The P&R Department would manage the facility.
Over the last ten years studies about the Bridge Street School all lead to municipal use of the building. If the building were to be renovated into a community center it is recommened that the Parks and Recreation department would move their offices to this space and oversee the daily management of the facility.
The current staffing of the P&R Department is:
Director, Wendy J. LaMontagne, CPRP
Recreation Supervisor, Cindy M. Fisher
Special Programs Coordinator, Donna F. Carney-Bastrzycki
The department would require additional staffing to operate the building. Building monitors would be contracted to supervise the building in the evenings and on weekends. The department would need the administrator poistion to be reinstated to a full time position. The department would also hire a teen supervisor to coordinate and oversee activites.
The department will be able to fully offset additional staffing expenses through program revenue. In fact the department expects that in 3 to five years it would be profitable and cover all program costs, staffing costs, and annual building expenses.
