You would use it.
A community center would service all the residents of Suffield by providing a central hub for toddlers, tweens, teens, adults and seniors.
Parks and Recreation programs would be more accessible to residents and out-of-towners, from ages 1 to 101. In addition residents would have full use of the facility for hobby classes, events and workshops.
Meeting space would be available for school groups, non-profits and town boards and commissions. Businesses would also be able to utilize audio/visual equipment and rooms for presentations.
Birthday parties, showers and other social gatherings could use the multipurpose room with catering kitchen for events.
There would be open gym for children and adults. There would also be a supervised teen center for after school that would have homework help, computers and other resources for students and teens.
Our Suffield Arts Council could utlize the space for gallery displays and shows. Friends of the Library could utlize space for book sales. Sports leagues would have use of gym space for games and tournaments. Toddlers could participate in more daytime programming.
A newly renovated community center would be 100% ADA compliant.
The resource of a community center would be managed by the P&R department but use would be available to all residents. The uses for a community center are truly endless.
